Our beloved Mother Janie A. Hinojosa age 91, of Austin, Texas, passed on December 4, 2021. Janie A. Hinojosa was born on September 8, 1930, to Manuel Arredondo and Tiodora Perez-Arredondo in Yorktown, Texas.
Janie is survived by her five sons, Eleazar Hinojosa, Jr., Edward Hinojosa, Bob Hinojosa, Fernando Hinojosa, Mario Hinojosa and two daughters, Maria Teresa Harp and Irene Hinojosa from Austin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her brother Marino Arredondo from San Antonio, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eleazar M. Hinojosa Sr., sons Israel Hinojosa, Lee Hinojosa, and daughters Clara Hinojosa and Carmen Morrin.
Janie was a homemaker while raising her children. She worked in a Nursing Home for several years and became skilled in caring for those who no longer could care for themselves. Janie was a longtime member at Trinity Baptist Church. While attending Trinity Baptist Church she attended the ladies’ meetings and volunteered for church events. During her spare time she enjoyed cooking, taking trips to the Rio Grande Valley with her sister-in-law Esther, sewing cloth for her granddaughters, drawing pictures of animals, flowers & trees and spending time with her six Chihuahuas.
A memorial service to honor Janie will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 2305 Forbes Drive, Austin, Texas 78754 (512) 719-3610 January 11, 2022 at 11:30. Her sons and daughter will hold a private service at a later date at Assumption Cemetery, Austin Texas.
