Judith Calvert Moore was born on May 30, 1947 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the fifth out of seven children to the late Eugene Brown Sr. and Pearlena Nettles Brown.
At an early age, Judy gave her life to Christ and became a member of her family church Majority Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina. Upon moving to Austin, Texas in 1974, she united with St. John College Heights Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W. M. Reed. She was a member of the Eastern Star Organization and an active and committed member of St. John College Heights Baptist Church until her health declined in November 2022.
Judy was a committed Scheduling Coordinator with Austin Independent School District for many years, until she retired in 2002.
Judy Moore was united in marriage to John Moore on March 13th, 1993.
On Sunday, December 11th, 2022, Judy Moore went peacefully to her eternal home with our Heavenly Father. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Angela Calvert-Jarmon (Bobby) of Houston, TX; two sons, Craig Calvert of Dallas, TX, and Eric Calvert (Ann) of Austin, TX; one sister, Hallie Howie (Harold) of Austin, TX; one brother, Maurice Brown (Thomasena) of Florence, SC; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Moore, her father, Eugene Brown Sr., her mother Pearlena Nettles Brown, and siblings Eugene Brown Jr., Willie ‘Billy” Brown, Charles Henry Brown, and Janice Friday.
In addition, Judy is survived by a host of well-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
