Judith Gillis
October 20, 1940 - May 27, 2024
Judith (Judi) Ann Gillis, 83, passed peacefully May 27, 2024 in Austin, TX. She had been ill for some time with Parkinson’s disease, heart disease among other ailments. She had a full life, enjoyed spending time with her friends and family in Michigan. Mom passed away with her family by her side.
She was born to Marie and Harry Pitcher in Benton Harbor, Michigan and grew up in Michigan.
Judi worked in advertising for the majority of her working years primarily at Leco Corporation in St. Joseph, MI and laterin Texas at TManage among other companies.
She was interested in many hobbies including oil painting, gardening, crochet, pottery, massage, Reiki, astrology, and motorcycle riding (a few years ago).
Mom loved a quip here and there and wanted to be funny when she could.
Judi is survived by: brother Dale Rhoades of Ada, MI, her sister Patricia Marks of Canton, GA and children , Tom Baumgartner, Bastrop, TX; Laryl Mannix (John) of Austin; 3 grandchildren, Audrey Hardee (Ben), Julianne Mannix (Zach) and Katherine Mannix; and her great-grandchildren, John Robert and Emily Hardee. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews: Jay Rhoades, Mark Rhoades, Mary Jane Rhoades,Peter Rhoades, Todd Marks and Amy Hanssen.
