Judy Reese

January 3, 1947 — April 30, 2015

North Austin Location

Judy Kay Hibbs was born in Austin, Texas on January 3, 1947, to Raleigh and Marion Hibbs, along with twin sister Jane Gay Hibbs. She passed away at her home in Bastrop, Texas on April 30, 2015 at the age of 68 and went to meet her savior.
Judy attended Austin High School. She was employed at K-Mart and later at a bank as a teller. Judy met John Reese through a blind date and they married on August 23, 1975. She then became a stay at home mother and later a caregiver to her father and mother. Judy was an Elvis fanatic, thrift store/garage sale enthusiast, nap taker extraordinaire, and dog lover. She loved sunflowers, roosters and frogs, potting plants, drinking tea, costume jewelry that she referred to as "bling", watching home shopping channels for the latest trends, and spoiling everyone around her. Judy didn't always have much, but what she had, she loved to give away. Above anything else, she treasured being a mother to her 4 children and grandmother to her 8 grandchildren.
Judy Reese was preceded in death by her father Raleigh and mother Marion Hibbs. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Blake Reese of Bastrop, daughter Renae Reed of Paige, son Kody (Georgia) of Bastrop, daughter Amy Lucio (Tony) of Cedar Creek, son Justin (Tonie) of Elgin, 8 grandchildren, sister Jane Forester, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and meals they have received. A special thank you to twin sister Jane for her unending love and never leaving Judy's side. The family would also like to thank the Hospice staff and the doctors/nurses that cared for her at St. David's Hospital.
Her memorial service will be held at Cedar Valley Baptist Church, 1905 FM 969, Elgin, Texas, 78621 on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to "Mission U-Too", Bastrop South location at https://missionutoo.org/gatherings/bastrop-south/.
