Katherine Schubert

Katherine Ann "Katy" Schubert, 67, of Rosanky, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 6, 2015 due to complications of heart disease.

She was born to the late Frank and Cyrilla Friedel, May 1, 1948, in LaGrange, Texas. When she was 4 she lost her mother so her daddy, "Tato" was her everything. She spoke fluent Czech and when she had to start first grade in LaGrange, being the stubborn child she was, she refused to learn English. Eventually she did but she still had her Czech accent which we all loved. Katy met the love of her life in Kirtley, Texas in 1963 and married him, Donny Schubert, on September 19, 1964.
Katy was a housewife and raised her three children while Donny worked on the railroad.
Katy is survived by her husband, Donny, and their three children, James Schubert; Gwendolyn Switzer; Steven Schubert and wife, Angela, all from Rosanky. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Tanner Schubert, 15; Kaulin Schubert, 13; and Savannah Switzer, 11; all from Rosanky. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Memaw, is so loved and will be greatly missed by them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cyrilla Friedel; her daughter, Shannon Gail Schubert; her granddaughter, Avery Ann Schubert; her brothers, Jerome Friedel, Bobby Friedel, Leroy Friedel; and her sisters, Georgia Fisher and Agnes Reiss.
A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. Friday, September 11th at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home in Smithville. Rosary will follow the viewing. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 12th at All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home with burial following at Rosanky Cemetery in Rosanky.
