Kathryne LaVerne Dudley, born in Dallas, Texas August 10, 1922 “Aunt LaVerne/Aunt LaLa”. Passed away quietly– May 8, 2022 with family by her side.
Preceded in death by her mother and father, Arthur Ray Dudley, Sr and Ila Frances Dudley. As well as her beloved brother Arthur Ray Dudley Jr.

Lianna Mills, Sr (niece) and husband Eric Mills

As well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
LaVerne earned a BA in math in 1943 from Tx Women’s University, as well as a Masters in the early 50's from North Texas State Univ at Denton. She went on to teach math at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School for 40 years in Port Arthur, TX.
LaVerne then moved to Austin, TX to be closer to her brother, Ray and sister in law, MaryJane, in 2004. She was a member of the Koenig Lane Christian Church until her death.
When asked what LaVerne was best known for, everyone who knew her said her quiet generosity was probably her most admirable trait. She gave faithfully to several charities for decades, including:

Child Fund International (since 1966)
Children, Inc
American Cancer Society
Habitat for Humanity

Aunt LaLa was an avid quilter as well and worked with quilting groups to provide blankets for the underprivileged.
She loved her puzzles and games and was playing Rummikub only days before she passed.
Miss Dudley’s memorial service will be held at Koenig Lane Christian Church 908 Old Koenig Ln, Austin, TX 78756 on June 4th at 11:00 am.
