Kerry McEntire, 62, passed away on April 16, 2013 after a powerful fight against cancer.
Kerry, a cherished husband, father, brother, son and friend, was born October 26, 1950 to Art and Jane McEntire in Franklin, PA. He was the third of three children, and always incredibly independent. He grew up in Pennsylvania, was drafted to the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and served a small tour of duty during that time. Upon returning, he attended the University of Pittsburgh, and fell in love with science. He moved to Texas and soon after, began work at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center in Smithville. During this time, he became interested in creating a quality product that could help aid researchers in their quest for answers. Thus, Starch Art Corporation was born, and would continue to serve researchers, both in the United States and internationally, for almost 25 years. Kerry also had a strong passion for cars of all kinds and was involved in sports and vintage car racing for almost 15 years. He was creative, independent, and entirely devoted to his family and friends.
Kerry was preceded in death by his father, Art. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Lili and Kira; brothers, Fred and Tim; mother, Jane; and numerous other family members and friends.
A special thanks to Resolutions Hospice, and all of the staff at Towers Nursing Home in Smithville, TX, for all of the wonderful care and support they provided in the last months of his life.
