Tripp Stroup passed away on Sunday October 21. Tripp was born on September 26th 1947 in Cameron, Texas. The son of a career Air Force Pilot Tripp spent his youth moving to various places around the world.
A stellar athletic He graduated from Palo Verde High School in Tucson Arizona where he excelled in Basketball, Baseball, and golf. He attended T.C.U. graduating in what he always termed only five years. After College he went to work in the Oil Service Industry for over 40 years in Houston, New Orleans and finally Austin.
Living at Lake Travis and travelling around the State for his business he finally went into semi-retirement and began work at Barton Creek Lakeside Golf Club. Tripp loved all sports and was very passionate about his T.C.U. Horn Frogs and his adopted Texas Longhorns.
He loved to cook and enjoyed catering to his family and friends in all kinds of New Orleans Cajun style cooking. We will all miss his Thanksgiving Fried Turkeys and Christmas Seafood Gumbo.
He was proceeded in death by his parent’s Colonel Lake W. Stroup Jr. and Mary Jo Stedman Stroup. He is survived by his two children, Skyler Stroup and Shelby Stroup both of New Orleans. His brother Hilry (Hil) Stroup and his wife Colleen, of Austin and his sister Patricia Epperson of Cameron as well as many nieces and nephews and a lot of dear friends. He will be missed.
A Memorial Celebration for Tripp will be announced at a later date.
