Laurel Giffen

Laurel Ann Pounds Giffen, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at her home in Austin, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

Laurel was born in Memphis, Texas, on July 18, 1947, to Hershell and Doris Pounds, who have preceded her in death. Also preceding her is her husband, Arthur (Andy) William Giffen.

Laurel is survived by her daughter's family: Melody and Michael Rajski, and their children, Mya Faith and Michael Ryan. Her son is Michael William Giffen. She has two sisters: Sue Magee of Georgetown, Texas, and the family of Janice and Kenneth Allan Langley of Georgetown, Texas, and their daughter, Caroline Langley of Austin, Texas. Laurel's brother-in-law is Bill Giffen. His family includes his wife, Maggie, their son, Justin Giffen, and Justin's daughters, Courtney and Ashley.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016, beginning at 11:00 A.M., and funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, North Location, 8507 N. IH-35, Austin, Texas.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016, at 1:30 P.M. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.

The family gratefully thanks Hospice Austin for the care and support given to Laurel and her family. Because flower sprays are not allowed at Ft. Sam Houston, the family requests donations be made to the hospice in memory of Laurel.
