Lawrence "Chief" Sanders, 74, was on born on April 4, 1940 in Bastrop, Texas to the loving parents of Mr. and Mrs. Modesta Sanders Sr. He gently transitioned life on Friday, March 13, 2015 with his family by his side.
Lawrence was a hard, dedicated, entrepreneur, who worked in construction for over fifty years. Lawrence instilled his hard work and ethics in his children and family. Family was very dear and important to his heart and way of life. He always made sure he was there for his family, providing love, understanding, guidance, and support. Lawrence as many often refer to him as "Chief" it was simply because he was the Chief of the tribe and loved having the best things in life. He was always the one to win you over with his personality and infectious smile. He will be greatly missed by all that encountered him along this journey.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, Modesta (Sr) and Ninah Sanders, four Sisters Gaynell Easley-Clark, Ella Louise Davis, Hazel Easley, Mosie (Sweetie) Lee Parks, three Brothers; Benjamin (Bennie) Sanders, Modesta Sanders, Jr., Dale (Sony) and His Daughter; Bridgett Sanders.
He leaves to cherish His memories two Loving Sisters; Annie Lee Britten and Lovie Mae Thompson, three Brothers; Johnny Sanders, James Sanders and Charles "CJ" Sanders. His Loving Children, Daughters; Stephanie Walker (Stanley), Sandy Sanders and Debbie Grant, Sons; Terrell Sanders (Sharon), Lawrence Sanders, Jr. (Christie), Shawn Sanders (Tishama) and His Special Friends Sallie Foster and Kenneth Pollard and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
Home Going Celebration will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 12:00pm at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 3417 E. MLK Blvd., Austin, Texas.
Internment Committal Service will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Austin, Texas.
