Linda Coleman

Linda Joyce Coleman was born October 1, 1942, in Austin, Texas to Charles Coleman Marion II, and Willie Mae Swisher. She departed this life peacefully on July 27, 2022.

Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Simpson United Methodist Church.  She later became a member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church of Austin.

After graduating from the Original L.C. Anderson High School, Linda would go on to have a 40-year career serving Austin area students by driving school buses for the Austin Independent School District and Pflugerville Independent School District.

Linda was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her family, friends, and the children who rode her bus each day.  She was described as a “people” person that was ready to laugh and enjoy life.  She was always herself and accepting of others for who they were. She enjoyed spending her time reading, listening to music, and lounging in one of her impressive collection of loungers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Marion, son Ryan Heath Coleman, brother Charles Coleman Marion III, niece Carolis Yvonne Urdy, and nephew Byron Keith Urdy.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Tracy Shevette Turner, sister Barbara Lorraine Urdy, sister Dorothy Crawford, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
