Lionel Hannington, Jr

Lonnie, aged 69, died suddenly Nov.13th at South Austin Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Barbara of Austin, his son Robert Hannington, of Taylor, TX, his daughter Tamara Andrews (Robert) of Tomball, TX, brother Wm. (Mike) Hannington of Missouri City, TX, four grandchildren and two great grandsons, numerous friends and family in the Houston area, and Barbara's extended family in Texas, Colorado and Michigan.
After graduating from the University of Houston and completing his Master's at then Southwest Texas State University, Lonnie's career included CFO of Lem Construction, beloved teacher at Gary Job Corp, and as a state auditor for Health and Human Services.
Lonnie was intelligent, loving and tenacious in his beliefs. He could belt out the lyrics of numerous songs, ranging from Broadway musicals to the Beetles, Dylan and Queen, followed by obscure lyrics from lesser known songwriters. He loved including movie dialog in normal discourse to highlight his point. He was deeply loved and his memory will be treasured.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by All Faiths Funeral Services.
