Manuel F. Sanchez
March 05, 1935 – February 15, 2018
On Wednesday, February 15, 2018 our beloved Father and Grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. He was surrounded by his family. Manuel goes on to join his wife of 64 years, Petra. Whom, he was caregiver through the last years of her life.
He would not want us to focus on the sadness of his death, but instead, to celebrate the spirit of his strong lived life. He was loving, passionate and carefree. He lived life to its fullest without any reservations for most of his 82 years. As a young man, he enjoyed Lone Star Beer, mechanical inventions (he created a neon psychedelic strobe light) , science magazines, dancing cheek to cheek with his wife and dancing “the stroll”. He loved creating special memories with his children, like building up The Wizard of Oz . His love for his family, his church and classic country music was life-long. Manuel enjoyed cooking for his family and friends (his Brisket was legendary) and he loved giving heart felt opinions to many (even if he wasn’t asked).
Seeing Manuel in his favorite well-recognized light blue jacket and fishing cap will be missed by all who knew him.
In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Manuel’s name to Delores Church.
