Without realizing it, we sometimes take for granted when we will see a loved one again. You never think or expect, as you go your separate ways after a visit, that your goodbye was anything more than a "see you tomorrow". The final earthly goodbye happened too soon with our mother. We thought we had so many more tomorrows left to share but it was not to be. In this time of transition we cling to one thought: Many parents, by instinct, are their child's comforter. Our mother, by instinct and example, taught us to turn to The Lord for comfort, to go to Him in prayer and to hold tight to His promises. She was preparing us for the day when she would no longer be here to help guide our paths. Her wish was for her children to have a relationship with The Lord because that meant so very much to her. It meant she fulfilled her duty as a follower of Christ as well as a mother. For that reason we may cry but we also rejoice. We know The Lord welcomed our beloved mama home and that is something to celebrate because mama taught us that Christians never truly say goodbye.
"Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."- Proverbs 139:16
"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31
