Maria Elida Ortiz Acevedo 81, of Austin, born Sep 22, 1931 passed away on Jan 23, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Guadalupe Ortiz; brothers Oscar, Eloy and Hector Ortiz and sisters Dora Tristan and Santos O. Soliz.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Jesus Acevedo; her children: Felix and Diane Acevedo, Nelda and Kevin Smith and Maria Lupe and David Martinez; grandchildren: Stephanie and Jeff Kveum, Francesca Acevedo, Valerie Smith, Lucas Smith, Brandon Martinez, Selena Martinez, Andrea Martinez, Mikayla Martinez and great grandchildren: Joshua and Nicholas Kveum and Jonathan and Breanna Pompa. Numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly also survive her.
Honoring her wishes, Elida will be cremated and there will be no memorial or funeral services. Private scattering of her ashes will be carried out at a later date. To honor her memory, visit or call a relative and share some time, laughter and love together.
