Maria Guadalupe Diaz

Maria Guadalupe Diaz died peacefully at home in Austin on Saturday June 5, 2021.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Josephine Cavazos.  She is survived by her husband, Juan Diaz, her son Fred Casarez, and her grandson AJ Casarez.  She is also survived by her brothers Arthur (Hermelinda) and David Cavazos and nieces Katrina and Leila Cavazos. Maria was a lifelong resident of Austin who worked for many years as an educational assistant. She will be remembered for her love of art and nature.  Maria had great devotion to the Divine Mercy and her deep-rooted Catholic beliefs.  She often shared her faith with others.
Funeral mass will be on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 1 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Austin. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery Austin.
