Martha Harris

Martha Melinda Harris passed away at the age of 60 on November 11, 2012 near
her home in Lockhart, TX. She was a woman of powerful consciousness and
intellect. She was a great wife, daughter, sister, friend and nurse of 40 years. She
highly valued her friends and her patients and deeply loved animals and the
outdoors. Humanity has lost one of it's best examples and our lives are now a little
less full.
Melinda was born August 31, 1952 in El Campo, TX to Dorlene Underwood Harris
and the late Oscar Harris. She graduated from Industrial High School in 1970 and
received her Nursing Degree from Wharton County Junior College in 1972. The
last 6 years her nursing career brought her to Texas Nursing & Rehabilitation in
San Marcos where she was dearly loved by all the staff, patients and families.
She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 26 years Bill Davisson of
Lockhart, TX, mother Dorlene, sister Nancy Harris Mcbee and husband Arnie,
niece Julie Clarke, great niece & nephew London & Ayden of Corpus Christi TX,
nephew Adam Mcbee of San Antonio TX, aunts & uncles Ethel King of Beaumont
TX, Edna Revel of Austin TX, Judy & Joe Hallmark of Granbury TX, Patricia &
Jim Bowlsby of Garland TX, John & Hilda Underwood of Dublin TX, cousins
Alice & Larry Cockrell of Inez TX and numerous other cousins & relatives -
innumerable friends and loved ones.
Everyone is invited to a memorial celebration of Melinda's life to be held at
Lockhart State Park Hilltop Recreation Hall 4179 State Park Road Lockhart, TX
78644 (512) 398-3479 on Saturday December 1, 2012 at 1PM.
Memorial donations may be made in Melinda's name to the San Marcos Regional
