Mary Evelyn Morgan Hightower, most fondly known as "Noonie", died peacefully surrounded by family on June 12, 2015 in Smithville, TX. She was born December 8, 1930, to George Abney and Mary Thomas Morgan of Mexia, TX. Mary was preceded in death by Joe Clay "Bill" Hightower and then long time companion Floyd Faulkner, along with brothers Floyd, Wade, Olan, Billy and Joe Morgan. She is survived by daughter Cherrie and husband Wayne Pullium of Smithville, TX; granddaughter Lauren McPherson-Siegrist, husband Phil, and great granddaughter Natalie of Cambridge, MA; granddaughter Shelby, husband Jon, and great grandson Boone Smith of Montgomery, TX; adopted son Darrel Cleere of Houston, TX; the family of Floyd Faulkner, whom she loved as her own; and numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as Aunt Sis.
Noonie was a faithful member of First Baptist Smithville, avid domino player and affectionately known as the hat lady. She was feisty, independent and adored her faithful four legged companion, BJ. She will be most missed for her spirited personality and always colorfully coordinated hats.
A celebration of Noonie's life will be held at First Baptist Church Smithville, on Tuesday, June 16, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Smithville or Resolutions Hospice, 507 Old Austin Hwy, Bastrop, TX 78602.
Noonie's family extends a heartfelt thanks to their angels at Resolutions Hospice. Amy, Kim and Courtney, thank you for being there when we needed you most.
