On October 3, 2016 Mary Kay Phillips was called home.
Mary Kay was born in Enterprise, Al on January 18, 1957 to the union of John Henry and Helen Jean Townsend, the 2nd of 3 children and their only daughter.
Raised in the church she confessed her faith and was baptized at .Later as a young woman she received the Holy Spirit.
Mary Kay graduated from Enterprise High School and went on to join the Army to server her country specializing in telecommunications, which brought her to Fort Hood and then Austin, TX. She was honorably discharge after injury. Being a true humanitarian she poured her knowledge into serving her community.
Mary Kay attended multiple colleges and obtained a series of certifications and degrees. She became a licensed evangelist received an Associate's degree in Business and earned a certificate for building her own computer. She worked for Health and Human Services, Child Incorporated and the IRS. She helped established programs that improved organizations, the public, and the church. Mary Kay started several small businesses that allowed her to express her creativity producing a beautiful array of gift baskets, corsages, mums, etc.
Mary Kay's passion was to help people. If she didn't have it to give then she knew about a resources or a program that could assist someone in whatever life challenge they may be going through. She was always giving her time, food, money, wisdom, and prayers even when she was not feeling well herself. She was a pillar of the community a neighborhood mother everywhere she went.
Always moving always doing I can hear her saying "Faith without works is dead. I have business to take care of baby, I have moves to make. If you get the work done then you can rest"
Rest in peace mama I love you.
She leaves to cherish her memories
9 Children - Daughters: Helina Greene-Russell (Jaime), Nixie Philips-Townsell (Stephanie); Rickeetra Caldwell; Son: Marlin Phillips (Jasmine), Chadrick Caldwell, Ricky Caldwell, Joshua Caldwell, NeCormus Caldwell, Kaytoa Caldwell; 17 Grandchildren: Mother: Helen Jean Townsend; 2 Brothers: Jae Dwayne Townsend (Sonya), Regenal Townsend (Delores). A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Visitation Service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 8507 N. IH-35, Austin, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 11:00am at Greater Love Baptist Church. Interment Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Central Texas Veterans Memorial Cemetery
