Mattie Beran

Mattie Lee Beran, age 88, passed away on April 24th at the Towers Nursing Home in Smithville, Texas. Mattie was born on November 23, 1924 and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Beran, mother and father, Mabel and Arthur Chapman, and her brothers Marion, Oscar, Thomas and Ervin. She is survived by a son, Arthur Dennis and daughter, Linda Plachy, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mattie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithville, and the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries. She loved to read her bible every morning, and enjoyed cooking for all who visited. Mattie loved life and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
Viewing for friends and family will be Friday, April 26th, at the All Faiths of the Pines Funeral Home in Smithville, Texas from 4 to 8 PM. Services will be Saturday, April 27th, at 2 PM at All Faiths of the Pines, followed by interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville, Texas.
