Maureen O'Henly

Maureen Yvonne O’Henly, formerly of Brazoria County, Texas, was born March 24, 1970, in San Antonio, Texas.  It is our great sorrow that she died at her home in Jonestown, Texas on December 29, 2017

Maureen had immense empathy for all life.  She graduated from Brazoswood High School and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Following her desire to help people, she received her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credentials with a Vocational Nursing degree from Alvin Community College. Using those credentials, she helped and served patients at the Angleton – Danbury Hospital in Angleton, Texas, and then at the Lone Star Circle of Care medical clinic in Austin, after relocating there. In 2013, she began working at Superior HealthPlan where she was working at the time of her death.

Left to cherish Maureen’s memory is her son Jake Sist.  Maureen absolutely loved and adored her son. She will also be sadly missed by her mother, Gloria Don (Donnie) Garland, of San Antonio; father, Ralph O’Henly (Gayla Sterzinger), of Lake Jackson; brother, Russell O’Henly (Carol Miller), of Austin; stepsister, Sarah Sterzinger (Jarrett Finley) of Lake Jackson; stepbrother, Jarrod Sterzinger (Leslie Sterzinger) of Round Rock; beloved cousin, Debra Rinaldi (Skip) of Madisonville, Louisiana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding Maureen in death is Ann Sist, her mother-in-law, who said she was the champion of the down trodden.

Maureen was highly artistic and creative. Her talents and skills were manifested in superior photography, pastel and water color art, sculpture, jewelry making, and beautiful wall decorations

Gone from this earth is a person who loved the plants and the birds in her backyard.  She loved taking photos of loved ones, family events, and nature.  Maureen was soothed by music and the poetry of life.
