MICHAEL GLENN TURNER was born on June 21, 1953 to Sam and Ola Mae Turner in Rusk County, Henderson, Texas. Brother Turner is preceded in death by his parents, sister (Francis), James and his twin brother Gerald.

After growing up in Rusk County, he moved to Austin, Texas. He became employed at Airborne/DHL, Hazen Transport Company and lastly at Goodwill as a Delivery Driver. He was an exceptionally hard worker and took pride in his responsibilities. Michael was united in marriage to Phyllis Bigsby in June of 2010.

Michael's true passion was spending intimate time with family and friends. He was a competitor in leisure activities such as; dominos, chess, and loved challenging his wife in ping pong. He took great pride in bringing the family together with his humor and love for hooking up a great barbecue.

Michael was exceedingly fervent in studying God's word. He was on fire for the Lord!! Always giving testimonials to all he encountered. While proclaiming the word of God, he would use his favorite quote, "Oh, this is good here." He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, participated on the Evangelism team and regularly attended Sunday school.

He leaves to mourn his wife Phyllis; Mother-in- Law Louise Bigsby(Houston); Stepdaughters Savannah Daniel(S.Korea), Leesa Daniel(Austin),Taranda Bigsby(Houston),Granddaughter Jazmyne Jones(Austin);sons Michael Jiles and Quashan Jiles(Longview),God-sons-Camron and Chris Rivers Jr.; Sisters Johnnie Hill(Houston), Shirley Henderson(San Antonio); Nieces Claudia(Houston, and Katrina Henderson(San Antonio); Nephews-Ken Henderson(Houston), Donnell Greene(Dallas); and a host of relatives and friends.

Homegoing Memorial Celebration for the Life of Bro. Michael Glenn Turner, will be held on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at 10:00am at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2938 E. 13th Street, Austin, Texas 78702, with Rev. Dr. G. V. Clark, Officiant.
