Mrs. Floyd Barrs

Floyd Ray "Penny" Barrs was born October 9, 1947 in Kerrville, Texas to Sue Amos and Johnny Fifer. She was the oldest child and grandchild in her family. At a young age, she moved to Austin, Texas. In 1972, she married Wilbert Barrs. They enjoyed 32 years of marriage and raising their familyn together.

Penny furthered her educational training by attending Nursing School, and she would use this knowledge to touch many lives. In Austin, she raised her three children, and she worked in the healthcare field for many years.

Penny was a member of Rosewood Avenue Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her earthly transition. She would touch many lives in the Austin area. To her Nieces, Nephews and others, she was simply known as "Aunt Penny". She went out of her way to make everyone feel loved.

She is preceded in death by Her Husband, Wilbert Barrs; Father, Johnny Fifer; and Grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Melissa Agnes Fifer. She departed this life on Saturday, February 4, 2017.

Penny made everyone feel special and loved. She never met a stranger. Her love showed no bounds; Her Mother, Sue Amos of Austin; Daughters Tina Cavil and her Husband Jesse, Pflugerville; LaFritzi Barrs Wydermyer of Del valle; Son, Wilbert Dean Barrs and his Wife Sheniko of Austin; Grandson Justin Cavil of Pflugerville; Siblings, Gail Norris-Scott and her Husband Willie; Michelle Amos, Maurice Fifer, Roderick Fifer Goodloe and Michael Fifer as well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Step-Children, Cousins and friends.

Home Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 at 11:00am at Rosewood Avenue Baptist Church, 1820 Rosewood Ave., Austin Tx., 78702. Interment Committal Services will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
