Norman Lynd

Norman Jeff Lynd (December 21, 1946 -February 7, 2015) Norman was born to Jane (Jeffcoat) Lynd and Jeff Lynd in Palestine, TX. He and his family later moved to LaMarque, Texas, where he graduated from LaMarque High School in 1965. He attended Lamar University and University of Houston where he studied business. He settled in Houston, where he and his wife made their life together. Norm worked in a variety of fields, including home building, banking and insurance, and he most recently owned a construction and remodeling company.

He married Mary Elizabeth LaMontagne in 1971 with whom he recently marked his 44th wedding anniversary. As a couple they attended Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, TX for over three decades. He was active in charity works through the church and served as an usher in the 1970's and 1980's. In addition, he was a long-time member and Past-President of the Bellaire Lion's Club. He also volunteered as a Santa for hospitals and other groups.

He is survived by his wife, Molly, and his son, Jeff Lynd of Austin; his daughter, Elisa Lellios, and her husband George of Holden, Massachusetts; two granddaughters, Zoe and Mia; his brother, Robert Lynd and his wife Judi of Texas City; his sister, Carol Perry and her husband, Richard of Liberty; and several nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Memorial Service and interment of ashes will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 1117 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX on Thursday, March 19th at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations can be made to Christ Church Cathedral, Houston, TX earmarked for COMPASS.
