Onésimo Atunez Maldonado

Onésimo Atunez Maldonado passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Durango, Mexico, on May 28, 1944, Onésimo lived a life rooted in love, hard work, and devotion to his family.

A skilled mason by trade, Onésimo took immense pride in his craftsmanship. He was known for his quiet strength, humble nature, and unwavering dedication as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ruth Gonzales Maldonado. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory and the values he instilled in them.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church, 900 Tillery Street, Austin, Texas.

A Christian burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, TX 78731.
