On February 18, 2015, the hands on the clock of life stopped for Sister Ora Lee Clark Moore and she entered into eternal rest. The clock of life is wound but once, no man has the power to tell when the hands will stop.
A native of Gonzales County, Texas, she was born on November 15, 1927 to Reverend Sherman Clark, Sr. and Mattie Lee Brown Clark. She married Marvin Moore on September 11, 1945 who preceded her in death.
She confessed her hope in Christ at a young age, and was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star St. Joseph Grand Lodge, Lilies of the Valley, Chapter 47. She had also served as head cook for Governor Preston Smith and his family at the Texas Governor's Mansion until his term was up.
She resided in Austin, Texas where she lived when she departed this life. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, six brothers, and one daughter. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Jonell Fields (Otha) of Pflugerville, Texas, and Gloria Ann Valichkofsky of Mesquite, Texas, one sister Mildred Jean Wright (Marion) of Austin, Texas, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
