Paul Rayburn was born in Munday, TX on March 20, 1931, to Erma Patrick and Thomas William Rayburn.
Paul was about six years old when he went to live at the Methodist Children's Home in Waco, Texas. He went through school in Waco, graduated from Waco High School, and attended Baylor University for a year. During the Korean War years, Paul was in the U.S. Navy, and served as a Yeoman on the USS Dixie. In those younger years his hobbies were sports, football, and dancing.
On June 20, 1953, Paul married Charlotte Roath in Duncanville, Texas. They celebrated their sixtieth anniversary earlier this year. Paul and Charlotte have two children: a son, Paul, Jr. and a daughter, Nancy Ann.
For many years Paul was a partner in Central Insurance Agency in Austin. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and active in the Realty Association. Paul and Charlotte were also active members of SkyView Baptist Church. Paul loved to fish, and the family spent many happy weekends at their place in Port O'Connor. His children remember him as a funny man with a colorful disposition who loved to tell jokes and sing crazy songs.
Paul is survived and will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of sixty years, Charlotte Rayburn;
His son Paul "Rusty" Rayburn and wife Josie of Ovilla, Texas;
His daughter Nancy Rayburn Vasquez of Austin;
