Paula Lemcke

Paula Jane Lemcke died on February 2, 2018, after a hard-fought battle with metastatic breast cancer.  She was 56 years old.

Paula was born on October 7, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia, to her parents, Thomas and Marilyn Massey.  She grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and Severna Park, Maryland, and attended Texas State University and The University of Maryland in College Park.  After college graduation, she moved to Austin, Texas, where she met her husband, Woodrow H. Lemcke, Jr.  They married in 1987 and had two sons.  The Lemckes moved to Georgetown in 2000.

Paula worked as a legal assistant for Williamson County and the State of Texas for many years.  She loved swimming, the beach, alpine skiing and spending time with her children.  Paula also volunteered at The Caring Place and the Williamson County Animal Shelter.  She was also active in the childrens' summer swimming leagues, Aquatics Georgetown, and the Georgetown High School band, orchestra and swimming boosters.

Paula is survived by her husband; her sons, Woodrow G. Lemcke and Neil Lemcke; her mother, Marilyn Massey, and her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Brian Nilson.  She is preceded in death by her father.

A Memorial Service will take place on February 10, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 14311 Wells Port Drive, Austin, Texas.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paula’s life.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Breast Cancer Resource Center, Ministry of Hope-Crestview Baptist Church, Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter or The Caring Place.
