Pauline Mcdade

A LIFE WELL LIVED AND A LIFE WELL LOVED

Pauline Robinson McDade was born May 7, 1934 in Williamson County.  She attended schools in Pflugerville and Jonah, TX for her elementary education and graduated from Hopewell High School in Round Rock.  She confessed Christ at an early age and was a 63-year member of St. Stephen's Baptist Church. She was active as a deaconess, church announcements clerk, recordkeeper, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and Sunday School Teacher.

She was known for her compassionate care of her children and many elderly family members.  After her children became adults, she worked temporarily as a home health care worker for the elderly and a daytime caregiver for many pre-school children including one great-great niece, two of her own grandchildren, Church members’ children and friends.    After retiring from home health, she began baking her famous oatmeal pies, cheesecakes, and teacakes for family and friends and sewing quits, which she used as a source of income and as gifts for family and close friends.  She never met a stranger.  She made all feel welcome and loved.  Whether at home, Church, work or the nursing home, everyone she met knew that she was a believer as she joyfully sang her favorite hymns.

She leaves fond memories to be cherished by her husband of 64 years, her 3 sons, 5 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and two sisters.  She will also be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
