Penny Alaine Schlabach

Penny Alaine Schlabach, 78, passed away on October 11, 2024, at home surrounded by family in Round Rock, TX. Penny was the daughter of G.D. and Edna Lewis of Morton, TX. She was born on August 8, 1946, where she grew up and graduated from Morton High School in 1964. Penny married her high school sweetheart, Steve Schlabach, on July 23, 1965, and together they had four children.

She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 60 years, Steve Schlabach; her loving sisters Sue Smith of Ropesville and Gwin Jamerson of Midland; her pestiferous children, Julie Schlabach and husband Marco Ortiz, Amy Schlabach Trest and husband Scott Trest, Darin Schlabach, and Mindy Schlabach Perez and husband David Perez; and her cherished grandchildren, Alex Schlabach, Alyssa Schlabach, Connor Trest, and Cruz Perez.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 2, 2024, in Round Rock, TX, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Penny’s memory.
