Pete Iii

July 9, 1967 — September 16, 2014

North Austin Location

Pete Acosta Quiroz, III, Made his grand entrance into this world on July 9, 1967 as the first child of 4 to Gloria and Pete Quiroz Jr. Pete was a wonderful father, foodie, traveler, lover of rock n' roll and JAgermeister. Pete unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014.

In his early years, some of his favorite music was Iron Maiden, Metallica and Black Sabbath, but not quite in that order. Pete was a born rocker, he was in the band throughout his high school years, and he had music in his blood.

The women in his life were numerous, consisting of his Grandma Grace Quiroz, his mother Gloria Quiroz and sisters Angelica and Esther Quiroz whom he adored dearly, and he also had his many aunts, cousins and friends he also loved dearly. The men in his life were also very significant to Pete. He learned the value of family, working hard and being a provider from both his grandpa and his dad and all of the strong role models he had in his life.

As he grew he fell in love a few times and got married once. His relationship with Cindy Flores was painful for him and for one reason, they raised a Rottweiler named Harley from a puppy and Pete dearly loved Harley, and when Harley passed away Pete was devastated, he was truly his best friend and he loved Harley. He also had a daughter named Marianna Quiroz who he was not able to get to know very well, but she has us now and boy do we have stories to tell her. His next relationship was nothing short of a three-ring circus but this was when his second daughter was born, Brittney Quiroz. Shortly thereafter he announced to the family that he was moving to Houston to be closer to Brittney, he showed such devotion and love for his daughter that was so admirable, so he packed up and moved to Houston. He quickly found a job and started to karaoke on the side for extra money and started his life in Houston.

No matter what he was going through in his life, you would always see him smile and hear him laugh and make light of whatever situation he was in. He always managed to make the best out of whatever life tossed his way, I can almost hear him laughing now, he's wanting to know why he's not propped up with a bottle of Jack in his hand and listening to Chis play some Stevie Ray Vaughn. But dad said no, not this time.

Although we were reluctant to accept his move to Houston, it turned out to be the best move he made. There he met Adrienne Chen, his fiancAC. and fell in love. There are so many things we commend her for; she is one heck of a woman to put up with his crazy hours and friends that he constantly made. She also gave him his baby girl Diana and she's a beauty and he loved his little extended family with Adrienne, Liam, Cliff, Brittney and Diana. And I know how bad he wanted Brittney home in Houston with him before he passed, we would frequently talk to him and listen to his heartbreak because she moved so far away. His life consisted of his love for his kids, rock n' roll and karaoke. He made so many friends that are musicians throughout all walks of life and I believe that that was where he got his motivation and strength through to get through his hardest times, through music. Music can touch the heart and soul and unknowingly help you through difficult times.

Pete was always a free spirit and he loved life, he loved people and he never knew a stranger. He adopted so many people into our family but most importantly he loved his own family with all of his heart and soul. There was this light about him that drew you to him, he was genuine and would tell you the truth whether you liked it or not. You could always count on a good time with Pete filled with laughter, hilarious stories about almost everyone he knew and a bottle of JAger, Jack and Vodka close by. Last Saturday he told us all at Diana's first birthday party how happy he was and how much he loved his family. Those values were instilled in all of us from the examples we've been lucky to have in our lives, our grandparents and our parents.

Pete is preceded in death by his Great Grandpa Jasso, his Grandma Ramona Vidouria and his Grandpa Pete Quiroz Sr. He is survived by his parents, Pete and Gloria Acosta Quiroz, sisters Angelica and Esther Acosta Quiroz, his brother Gabriel Acosta Quiroz, his fiancAC. Adrienne Chen, his daughters Diana Quiroz, Marianna Quiroz and Brittney Quiroz among several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be one less light at every show that he would frequent, every party and after-party he would attend because he was THE party. Our star has made his final tour, until we meet again. We love you.
