Celebrating the Life Of
Precious Jewelee Sorrells
April 23, 1934 - December 26, 2024
A pillar and rock returned from whence she came leaving the Sorrells family in sadness. Precious Jewelee was the daughter born to the late Alvin and Myriel Sorrells of Manchaca, Texas on April 23, 1934. Given the name Precious suited her personality as the precious soul she was. Attended grade schools in Buda, Texas, and later Nixon Clay College in Austin, Texas. She followed her passion for clothing and began working in retail as a Manager at Frost Brothers, serving several years. God became her testimony early in life at Zion Rest Baptist Church in Kincheonville, Texas, singing in a gospel group with friends and other family members. Her faith led her to the St. John Community where she joined Blacks Memorial Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, and final roots at St. John College Heights Baptist Church. Dedicated to serving God within Mission, Ushers, and Janitorial services. Give me my flowers while I yet live...she put in flower beds at the church and maintained them. This was her testimony...
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Sorrells and Myriel Sorrells, sisters; Margaret Sorrells, Eva Bradford, Bessie Fields, Shirley Hill, and Marie Hernandez, brothers; Willie Joe Sorrells, Leroy Sorrells, James Sorrells, Walter Sorrells, David Sorrells, Raymond Sorrells, Alvin Sorrells, and Bobbie Sorrells.
Precious Sorrells leaves to cherish her memory; sister Floris Sorrells of Austin, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was often visited at the Legend Oaks Nursing Rehabilitation by family, and friends, and several phone calls. Aunt Precious often talked of you and wanted to say "thank you": Valerie McDonald, Carolyn Fisher, William Bell, Terry Fisher, Brenda, Bell, Flois Sorrells, Franklin Hill, Marvin Bryson, Zachariah Bryson, Kevin Ray Sorrells, Bennie Mae Sorrells, Alice Hernandez, Precious Hernandez, Sister Gillesby, Pastor Harvey and wife Nicole Harvey, Deacon O, Rev.
