Rainey Mccuiston

November 18, 1948 — April 8, 2013

North Austin Location

Rainey "Pete" L. McCuiston, of Leander, Texas, passed away suddenly on April 8, 2013.

Pete leaves behind Charlotte, his adoring and devoted wife of 43 years; son, Randy McCuiston and wife Christi; daughter, Michelle Acton; mother, Maria McCuiston; brother, Ronnie McCuiston; sisters Gayle Dailey and husband J.T.; Pam Russo and husband Leonard; grandchildren Autumn, Amanda, Colby and Bella McCuiston, and Aiden Acton; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roy "Buddy" L. McCuiston.

Admired and revered for decades in the boat repair and construction industries, Pete was an artisan and his expertise was a gift from God. He spent thousands of tireless hours coaching and watching his children's and grandchildren's baseball, softball, football and soccer games; which enthralled Pete to the point of humorous obsession. Sports fields became a second home. The bass fishing and hunting communities lost a life-long companion, as well. Hunting and fishing brought him his greatest source of peace.

Never too tired to hear your story, Pete was quick to invite conversation. He never met a stranger, and was always willing to help in a time of need. Respected in the truest sense, Pete was a friend to many, but most importantly, he was a good husband, a good father... a good man.

Pete was blessed with a full life of promise and reward. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

A Visitation Service will be held on Saturday, April 13th, 2013, from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the All Faiths Funeral Service, 8507 N. IH-35, Austin, Texas 78753.

Friends and family are invited to attend a gathering at Maria McCuiston's house at 120 Woodland Trail, Leander, TX immediately following.
