SZABO, Ramona Kay, 74, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018. Ramona was born on June 20, 1943 in Colorado Springs, CO to Earl “Buddy” and Margarite “Marge” Farmer. She married the love her life and her husband of 56 years, Josef Szabo, on August 7, 1961 in a suburb of Denver, CO. Ramona was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to be in the moment with her family and loved to share in their lives. She was the rock that stabilized them. She had an infectious smile and laugh. She loved reading, taking care of “her” babies, watching Denver Broncos football and her “Sister Fridays” with her sister Charlotte. She had a heart bigger than Texas and gave it freely and completely to everyone she loved. Ramona is preceded in death by her mother, father, sisters Earlene and Debbie, and her son, Steven Earl Szabo. She is survived by her husband, sons Joseph “Joey” Szabo (Dana) of Austin, TX and David Szabo, of Round Rock, Texas, and sisters Charlotte Maxson of Manchaca, TX and Cheryl (Glenn) Yamada of Longmont, CO, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family of Ramona Szabo wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas ICU and Comport Care staff for making her last days so comforting and peaceful. To say she will be terribly and painfully missed is an understatement. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 at 2PM at Assumption Cemetery Chapel, 3650 S. IH-35 Austin, TX 78704.
