Reversa Perkins

Reversa Allie Perkins, 87 years of age, passed away on May 30, 2015 in Austin, Texas.

Reversa was educated at Rosenwald High School in Luling, TX.

She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church for 62. Reversa served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher and later became Superintendent of the Sunday School. Reversa received her Deanship at the National Baptist Congress. Reversa also received numerous certificates and awards from the many conferences she attended over the years.

Reversa completed cosmetology school in 1955 and was a licensed Cosmologist until she retired at the age of 84 after working at various Salons.

Reversa was a life time volunteer at St. David's Hospital for over 30 years.

In 1973, Reversa married Cleo Perkins and they have been married for the last 42 years.

Reversa was preceded in death by her parents Albert Moore and Henrietta Moore, daughter Brenda Branch Duncan and grandson Anthony Pearson.

Reversa is survived by her loving husband Cleo Perkins, son Rogers Harris, Jr. (Lisa) of Austin, Texas, daughter Doris Branch Horsley (Vencen) of Nashville, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Steven Pearson, Partrice Harris, Kellie Bailey, Lacresha Harris, Ronald Maxfield and adopted grandson Gareth Lambert Booher; 11 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, family and friends.

Funeral Services: Saturday, June 6, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church
1179 San Bernard, Austin, TX 78702. Interment: Ebbon Cemetery in Luling, Texas.
