Robert Raymond Ceder, 82, went to be with his loving wife Norma on November 23rd, 2017. Robert was born on April 14th, 1935 in Manor, Texas to David and Violet Ceder. Robert and Norma married on May 28th, 1960. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was involved in his family’s lives, and they all looked up to him as a mentor. He had a big heart that radiated love, which is why so many people were drawn to him as a friend and why his family loved him so much.
Robert enjoyed listening and playing bluegrass music with his friends. Robert once said he could play any instrument that had strings. Robert had a love of animals and many of his hobbies included them. He participated in livestock shows, raced homing pigeons and spent time on his ranch with his cattle and beloved cats, Ring and Bling. When Robert was not outside he enjoyed watching NASCAR, horse races and rodeos.
Robert is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Sherry Ceder of Smithville, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jimmy Biddle of Manchaca, TX; daughter-in-law, Sydney Ceder of Dripping Springs, TX and five grandchildren, Megan Ceder Savage and her husband, Matt, Kelly Ceder, Lacy Ceder, Chase Ceder and Darren Biddle and his wife, Liz; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Olivia Biddle; brother Kemper Platt and sisters Betty Jean Purvis, Yvonne (Bonnie) DePratter and Mary Ann Banks. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ceder, eldest son Ray Ceder and sister Susan Gaines. Graveside services will be held at Johnson City Masonic Cemetery, Johnson City, Texas on Saturday, December 2nd at 11 a.m.
