Mr. Robert Louis Jackson Jr, was born on September 29, 1940 to Robert Jackson Sr. and Lizzie Lee Cook- Jackson in Smithville, TX. Robert received his diploma from Mary A Brown High School in Smithville, Texas.
Brother Jackson accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He served as a faithful steward that truly loved the lord at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church of Austin, TX since July of 1983.
Robert was employed by Tracor where he served dutifully for twenty years before retiring in 1991. In his leisure, he enjoyed singing in the church choir, serving on the usher board, and taking long walks around Austin.
Robert Jackson Jr. was truly blessed. He departed this life on March 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Robert Louis Jackson Sr; his mother, Lizzie Lee Cook; his brother, Ross Lee Cook; and two sisters, Inez Thomas, and Brenda Sandal.
He is survived by his eight children: Robert Alexander (Arly), Leslie Alexander, Michael Alexander, Kimberly Alexander, and Melody Alexander all of Austin, TX; Terri Meriwether (Lawrence) of Manor, TX; Kenneth Alexander (Selena) of Tallahassee, FL; and John Alexander (Barbara) of Abilene, TX. 16 grandchildren: Robert Raashad Jones, Brandon Alexander, JayRynn Williams, Dondre’ Beaver-Alexander, Marcus Alexander, Dante’ Beaver-Alexander, Nkosi Alexander, Mackenzie Alexander, Janee’ Beaver-Alexander, Kadence Alexander, Trenton Alexander, Barbara Johnson, Cynthia Beaver, Diamond Beaver, Orianna Alexander and Kinah Alexander. Three brothers: Elmer Tolbert, Leon Tolbert, Jr., and Lee Roy Jackson; Four sisters: Georgia Thomas, Vickie Holley, Lizzie Tolbert, and Ruby Cook, all of Houston, TX; Esther Thompson of Austin, TX; As well as a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, on Friday, March 14, 2014 at All Faiths Funeral Services – North Chapel. Funeral Services will begin 11:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 5900 Cameron Rd, Austin, TX 78723. Interment will be private.
