Robert "Forrest" Ward 66 of Del Valle, Texas passed into the next life on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born July 29, 1946 in Austin, Texas to Jewel Vaughan and Robert Ward. He was the youngest son.
Forrest started painting when he was sixteen. He soon started his own business and was self-employed from then on. One of his friends nicknamed him "Frosty" because he looked like a snowman when he was done spray painting buildings white. He loved fishing and hunting and being with his friends. He was also active in Los Cielos Neighborhood Watch. When his health was failing he still enjoyed watching people hunting and fishing on TV. Duck Commander became a favorite.
Forrest loved to spend time with his friends. He was always there to help people up onto their feet. Many people lived in his spare bedrooms over the years.
Forrest grew up in Austin. He also lived in Kingsland, Bastrop/Cedar Creek, and then finally in Del Valle for the last 3 A½ years.
He is survived by his wife Gini, children, Sherry, Lloyd, and Tina, grandchildren; Cassie, Dalton and Lane, Becky and Beth. and great-grandchildren. and by step children and their spouses and children He also is survived by two sisters, Joanne and Ginger.
There will be a small informal celebration of his live at the family home Saturday, January 19th starting at 2PM Bring pictures and memories.
