Ruben Christopher Quintanilla was born on Christmas Day, 1952, in San Antonio, TX to Fidel and Gloria Quintanilla.
Though he lived his life in Texas, he found joy and adventure in travelling the world with his wife, Deanna. He enjoyed international cuisine and famously had a sweet tooth. He was an avid sports fan with a soft spot for the Chicago Cubs and the San Antonio Spurs. He loved listening to live music, especially blues. He was a welder by trade and a handy man around the house and in the garage.
Ruben is survived by his wife Deanna Jaime Quintanilla, and his daughters RoseAnn Figueroa, Sandra Quintanilla, and Anna Marie Quintanilla. He had four grandchildren - Samantha, Sofia, Yasmin, and Dario, as well as a great-granddaughter, Nova. He also leaves behind his brothers Fidel and Robert and sisters Gina Gutierrez, Diana Loredo, Ruby Ann Rodriguez, and Brenda Lee Simpson. Ruben loved and cared for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Raul.
Ruben passed away on August 31, 2022. He left this life far too soon. We will forever feel his absence in the moments that might have been filled with his lively storytelling and good humor.
