Sam Hartman, Jr

Sam Hartman, Jr. was born to Sam Hartman, Sr. and Mattie Stewart- Hartman on May 24, 1942 in Austin, Texas. On January 22, 2016 at the Hospice Austin's Christopher House, He departed this life at the age of 73.

He attended Austin Public Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army on April 29, 1960. He served in the Vietnam War. Sam was honorably discharged on October 18, 1966. He received the Army Occupational Medal and a Rifle Marksman Badge.

He united with New Faith Baptist Church in Lake Charles Louisiana in 2002. He later united with Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Austin Texas in Oct 2015.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Joe and Mahalia Stewart and Albert and Lizzie Hartman. Parents: Sam Sr. and MattieHartman, Daughter- Valerie Hartman, Son-Kenneth Ray Hartman, Step-Daughter Sharon Clark and Brother Charles Calvert.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Sam Hartman III (AustinTX) and Anthony Hartman, daughter- Shelia Hartman, Grand-daughters Cheronte Hartman, Asia McCready all of Los Angeles CA. Sisters: Mary Mahaly Hartman-Stubbs, Florine Hartman-Benford, Lizzie Hartman-Burleson, Blanche Hartman, Georgia Hartman all of Austin, Tx. Brothers James Hartman(Austin,Tx) and Albert Hartman(Dawn) of Grand Rapid Michigan) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
