Sherry Leo "S.L." Faulk, 91 years young, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, August 16, 2016. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Sherry started a career with Humble Oil & Refinery, which later grew into marketing and then managing his own service stations. Altogether he worked ardently for over 40 years with Exxon, recognized for his work ethic on several occasions and noted in LIFE magazine in the 1960's for selling the most tires in the nation. He was also a dedicated Mason for over 60 years. He loved any chance to be outdoors whether it was gardening, hunting with his sons, or just to get out and mow his pasture, a family member's or a neighbor's pasture. Another passion of his was food, he loved going out to eat and was known to help his wife Margaret around the holidays cooking and preparing the food. He loved a good cup of coffee in the morning with his newspaper and making a pit stop by the doughnut shop, where he was a regular. A favorite past time of his was dozing with his son, Mike, and making day trips with him when he could. He just about never missed his favorite shows like Hee Haw or anything on CMT, sometimes he even made plans around it. Something he really loved more than anything though was helping others, and spending time with his family. He was a treasured husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be most remembered for the big grin he wore on his face, an endless supply of Dickies coveralls he sported, his soft spoken demeanor, the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone he came into contact with, and his love for a good prank. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ernie Faulk, and his four sisters, Bonnie Rhoden, Betty Lou Penninger, Lilian Camp and Peggy Ellender. Also preceded by wife, Margaret Faulk, daughter Karen Windham and grandson Brent Windham. Survived by his son Mike Faulk and his wife Brenda; grandchildren Heath Faulk, Darin Faulk and Ashley Figur and her husband, Rommel; and great grandchildren, Haley Faulk and Isabella Figur. Also survived by his son Rex Faulk and his wife JoAnn; and Rex's children Paige Stevens and her husband Troy, and Jason Faulk; and their grandchildren, Caleb Stevens, Alison Bourbon, Joseph Stevens, Jessie Stevens, Kaitlyn Faulk, and Caden Faulk; and great grandchild Cambrie Bourbon.
