Shirley Ann Cervetti Bruch

Shirley Bruch’s big heart failed her on Saturday 7/6/24.

Shirley is survived by children Katherine (Frank Serrano), Margaret, Mark (Angela Mote), Joe and John; grandchildren Heather (Jeff Luton), Jonathon, Michael, Elizabeth and Athena; great grandchildren Hailey, Helena and James.

Shirley was preceded in death by son Michael, husband James Matthias, father Joseph Cervetti and mother Margaret Braun. 

Shirley was born, raised and educated in Memphis TN; graduated Sacred Heart High (1954) and St. Joseph’s Nursing (1957). Later in life Shirley received her BA from St. Edwards University (1990) as part of a University Year For Action.

In addition to working as a RN and raising 6 children, Shirley was a dedicated St. Vincent de Paul volunteer for many years.

While working on her BA, Shirley was instrumental in establishing the first food pantry at St. Ignatius Church, Austin TX. 

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family American Catholic Church, 9322 FM 812, Austin TX 78719 at 11 AM on Saturday July 20th. A gathering will follow in the parish hall.

Shirley’s family extends special thanks to caregiver Rosa Muniz and Heart to Heart Hospice staff for their tender care. Special love and thanks to all the family and friends that visited from near and far to spend time and share memories with Shirley. Holy Family American Catholic Church clergy and friends provided wonderful friendship and spiritual support to Shirley and family.
