Stephanie Hockenhull

Stephanie was born on January 12, 1970 to Richard and Sonja Bruton in Downey, California. She was a happy child, despite ongoing health struggles. Her life became even happier when she met Jim. Jim and Stephanie were set up on a blind date in the late 1980's. That date is one of Stephanie's favorite stories: She and her mother stood at the window watching for Jim. After driving up in his big, long, white car, he parked and fixed his hair before coming to the door. That was her first glimpse of Jim. They were married on March 8, 1992. After a series of life difficulties, Jim and Stephanie separated, but that is not the end of their story! God's plan brought them back together and, more importantly, back to Him. They were remarried on August 17, 2013 with Jesus at the center of their lives.

Although Stephanie only had a few best friends, Stephanie's life was an inspiration to countless friends and her sister "butterflies" (others suffering with Turner's Syndrome). Stephanie's faith was a blessing to everyone she encountered. She was a true testament of the grace, love, and restoration available from our God.

Stephanie had fifteen great years at Southwest Airlines. She loved her Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Dr. Pepper!

Stephanie was preceded in death by her sister, January, two beloved aunts, Connie Harris, Irene Nowlin, and uncle, Bill Nowlin. Stephanie is survived by her husband Jim Hockenhull of Austin, TX, parents Richard and Sonja Bruton of Texarkana, TX, sister Stacey and husband Fred Engstrom of Midland, TX, brother-in-law Michael Hockenhull and wife Anna of Houston, TX, grandmother Katy Raney of Texarkana, AR, Uncle Joe and Aunt Leona Forste, nieces, nephews, great niece, and cousins. Of course, this list would be remiss to not include her fur babies, Katarina and Tatiana.

Services for Stephanie are being held at New Life Austin, 3200 Century Park Blvd, Austin, TX 78727. Her interment will be in Texarkana, TX..
