Thomas Kinsey

Thomas Colt Kinsey, 24, of Smithville, Texas passed away February 1, 2013 from complications of a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Many friends and family came to see him at Scott and White Hospital in Temple during that time, but he quietly drifted off to be with the Lord with his father by his side, which is what Thomas would have wanted. He was born to Gary and Jackie Kinsey on August 16, 1988 in Georgetown, Texas. Thomas graduated from Smithville High School in 2009.

Thomas attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas majoring in Christian Ministry with a focus in youth ministry. His greatest aspiration was to be a youth minister. He was a member of the Baptist Student Ministry and had gone on some mission trips with the BSM as well as participate in their worship services. Thomas was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville, Texas.

Thomas is survived by his parents Gary and Jackie Kinsey; his sister, Kristy Marie Kinsey; and his brother, Gary Alan Kinsey II. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, H.O. Bennett and Lilly S. Branham ; and his paternal grandmother, Lela Faye Kinsey of Smithville. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Krystal Kinsey as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Vernon Elisha Kinsey and his Uncle Michael Kinsey.

The Family would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who has helped in everyway, be it physically, monetarily, emotionally, and/or spiritually. We especially give thanks to Jehovah Rahpa, the Ultimate Healer.

The graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4th at Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville. Following will be a memorial service at First Baptist Church in Bastrop.
