Thurman Taylor
(May 2, 1936 – December 21, 2019)
Thurman R. Taylor, age 83, of Bastrop, Texas passed away at his home on December 21, 2019. Thurman was born in Shamrock, Texas on May 2, 1936 to Ross and Jewel Taylor. Thurman graduated with a Business Degree from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1960 at Fort Meade, Maryland, and earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant with the National Security Agency (NSA). He was President of Snowbird Ski Resort in Salt Lake City, Utah and CFO at PISA, International, Inc. and worked in Tokyo and Hawaii. He retired in Bastrop, Texas.
Thurman will be remembered as a man of his word. His life was marked with generosity to others. Thurman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and loyal friend.
He spent many hours on the golf course and forged lasting relationships with his golf buddies.
Thurman is survived by his lovely wife of 25 years, Priscilla Taylor; a daughter, Teresa Taylor of Lewisville, Texas, a grandson, Brandon Johnson and his wife, Danyell of Dallas, Texas, granddaughter, Caitlin Herrera and husband, Ruben of Dallas, Texas, and step-daughter Aida Burkett and husband Mike, and their children, Kayla and Catherine of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Taylor of Amarillo, Texas and sister, Carolee Murray and husband E.K. of Caldwell, Texas.
A Graveside Service will be held with Honors on January 31, 2020 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.
