Twain is survived by wife, Latrelle, of 65 years, daughters Shelley Bockhorn and husband David, Kay Lee Cox and husband Ricky, all of Austin, Grandson Justin Cox and wife Leah, great granddaughters Sydney and Natalie, of McKinney, Texas; Grandson Cameron Twain Cox and wife Katie, great granddaughter Kinsley and great grandson Callan Twain, of Dripping Springs; Granddaughter Lynnlee Cox, of Austin, Texas. His son Mark Twain preceded him in death.

Twain worked for Kerrville Bus Company for 34 years. He was a long time member of Saengerrunde German Club and Austin and Bastrop Optimist Clubs.

In 1988, at the age of 56, Twain became the 14th patient at Seton Medical Center to receive a donor heart. He survived 27 years with the new heart. He volunteered at Seton and Heart Hospital of Austin. He was named Volunteer of the Year in Travis County in 2004 and received Special Recognition from the Heart Hospital in 2008.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, October 30, 2015, at 11:00 am at Parker Lane United Methodist Church, 2105 Parker Lane, Austin, Texas 78741. The visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seton Heart Transplant Fund or Parker Lane United Methodist Church.
