Wanda Diane Lovings Marshall
“Cinderella”
Wanda Diane Lovings was born September 6, 1959 to Jodie Frank Lovings. She attended the Austin Public Schools’ Govalle and Allen Elementary Schools, Leander Junior High School and Reagan High School in 1977. While in high school, Wanda loved gymnastics and parallel bars. She was described as a beast on the parallel bars. She professed a belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age of 4 or 5 years old in 1963 or 1964 where she was baptized at Nineteenth Street Baptist Church. As an adult, she later joined St. Stephens Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Reverend Alton Tisino. Wanda didn’t want the norm. She was very crafty and had a talent for sewing. She was the first to design tie dye jeans. Everyone wanted to know where she got them. Everything she wore had to match. Wanda loved people and was known by everyone in the neighborhood. She was a very helpful person and she enjoyed working as a waitress and cashier in her early years. Her true joy was working with the elderly in the home health care field. She was preceded in death by her surrogate father, Thomas Leon Lovings; her sister, Debbie Ann Lovings Eswonie; her brothers, Gregory Joe Lovings, Thomas Leon Lovings II and Rodney Lynn Lovings (Jackie); her brother-in-law, Bennie Hutchison. Wanda leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Jodie F. Lovings; her son, Dedtran D. Marshall (Sophia); her daughter, Sophia N. Marshall Alvarez (Adam); her sisters, Barbara J. Lovings Horton, Caroll L. Lovings Hutchison, Vickie Y. Lovings Zuniga-Morales (Cesar), Bridgette A. Brown Barclay (Arnot) and Stephanie K. Lovings; her brothers Gary Lovings (Erma) and Wayne A. Lovings (Joan); her grandchildren, Dedtran D. Marshall Jr., Nia Simone Marhall, Kiondre Marshall, Avion and A’ryah; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
