Wanda Fay Caldwell Montoya, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Austin, Texas after a brief illness.
Born in Bingham, Utah September 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Rice Caldwell, and wife of the late Ray Montoya. She formerly resided in Bingham, Utah, Rome, NY, Saratoga Springs, NY, Reno, NV, Butte, MT, Austin, TX and Grandbury, TX.
Wanda had a lifelong passion for caring for others. She worked most of her life in nursing homes and continued to care for elderly after her retirement. She was known for her generosity and willingness in times of need. She was known as Grandma to all who knew her.
Wanda enjoyed eating out, cooking and baking and traveling to visit family. But most of all, she loved the company of her family, especially her kids, grandchildren, siblings and all their families. She welcomed all in a loving way.
Survivors include her four children, Peggy Migliori (Rocky) of Saratoga Springs, NY, Tony (Enid) Montoya of Grandbury, TX, Paul (Sherry) Montoya of Austin, Texas, and Pauline (Roy) Batts of Reno, NV. Also her grandchildren- Michelle Migliori Watson of Glendora, NJ, Micheal (Melissa) Migliori of South Glens Falls, NY, Martin (Jennifer) Migliori of Saratoga Springs, NY and Mark Migliori of Beachwood, NJ; Jennifer Montoya Lilly, Stephanie Montoya Knight (Todd) of Tampa, FL, Elizabeth Montoya Wyatt (Jeremy) of Statham, GA., Brandy Montoya Beeler (Thomas) of Atlantic Beach, FL, Melissa Montoya Shanahan (Sean) of Frisco, TX and Jessica Montoya of Santa Clara, CA; Jeremy Beckwith (Holly), Vancouver, WA, Jason Beckwith (Rebecca), Austin, TX, Amy Beckwith (Rick), Austin, Texas and Jennifer Grant, Rome, NY; Edward Putnam and Ryan Putnam of Reno, NV. Wanda also had 24 great-grand children.
Survivors also include three sisters, La Rue Caldwell Boring, Donna Caldwell Nielson, and Dorothy Caldwell Cato all of California. She was preceded in death by a sister, Illa Muniz and a brother, Lane Caldwell both of Butte, MT.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Austin Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Austin, Texas.
