Tammy Tidwell

1963 — January 1, 2022

Austin, Texas

Tammy June Tidwell passed from this life on October 11th, 2022 holding the hand of her husband and greatest friend until her final breath. She was a beloved wife, friend, sister, and aunt.  Her light and joyous spirit was an inspiration to all who met her.

Born June 11, 1963 at Mercy Hospital in Brownsville, Texas, and was called the miracle baby because at 1 lb. 7 oz. and 24 weeks gestation she was the smallest baby born there to survive at that time. She grew up in Brownsville, graduating from James Pace High School in 1981. She followed with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Texas Southmost College in 1984 Summa Cum Laude. She was a member of both Alpha Kappa Psi and Phi Beta Kappa.  Her mentorship and tutoring while at college helped many find their own dreams and careers.

On June 23, 1986 she married her soulmate, Eric Steele Park, and shared 36 wonderful years together.

Her life was characterized by her boundless curiosity and unwavering compassion for others. She took special joy in every child and watching them grow. She had keen appreciation for the bonds of friends and family shared over a common meal.

She is preceded in death by her parents Harold Faye Tidwell Sr. and Oliva Armandina Perez Tidwell, her brother Glenn Gary Tidwell, and sisters Pamela Carmen Tidwell Vidos and Deborah Dawn Tidwell Zak.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Eric, her brother Harold Faye Tidwell, Jr. and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. All have felt her loving presence and influence in their lives.

Her life was a gift to all who knew her, and we praise her life to come in God's embrace.
